We are currently delivering the full M&E design for a new student accommodation scheme on Moss Lane East, comprising a 9-storey new build and the refurbishment of a Grade II-listed building overlooking Whitworth Park. The development will provide 261 bedrooms in a mix of studios and cluster en-suite rooms, alongside shared amenities including study spaces, lounges, a gym, cinema, and wellbeing areas.
Working closely with our client, Shaw Contract Management, we've developed a coordinated design that includes heating, ventilation, air conditioning, water, drainage, lighting, power, fire safety, security and data systems.
Sustainability is central to the scheme, with Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs) and Photovoltaic (PV) panels integrated to support an EPC "A" rating and BREEAM Excellent target.
The listed building will be repurposed as a dedicated amenity hub, with services carefully integrated to preserve its historic character while supporting modern use. Once complete, the development will offer high-quality, energy-efficient accommodation in a prime location near Manchester's universities.
